An ugly problem is rearing it's head in WWII real steel reenacting that could hurt us. An individual in the WWIIHRS who is wormed his way into a position of power has started an anti-airsoft campaign. He is trying to get airsoft guns banned from their group and make them illeagle. So far not too many people are worried about him, they are just asking why. I am going to make it known to him that I oppose his position and plan on fighting it. First step will be to boycott his event and get as many people to do the same. Next will be to get his removal from power in that group.

Sad to hear that buddy, there is a bit of that over in the UK from the entrenched re enactment people although they are just in the habit of poo pooing airsoft rather than going all out to ban it. One of the chaps from AFRA (all forces re enactment association) tried to organize a 'hardcore' event which was a crossover between living history but using airsoft weapons, he got a good response from the WW2 airsoft community but nothing but excuses from the LH people. Seems the airsoft lads were quite happy doing sentry duty and sleeping in foxholes, but the reenactment people seem to prefer to camp out with all their mod cons

Yesterday was the main day here at the Reenactors Fest. I was able to talk to the leadership of the main WWII reenactment group and they too are unhappy with this individual. The hunt was on to get him, his suggestions were not liked by all. Glad to know I am not the only one who thinks that making airsoft guns illegal is a stupid and bad idea.
