I looked at the website recently, it appears that they support a few Vietnam airsoft events...BUT, what could be better at a WW1 field than WW1 airsoft? I think it would be worth asking them about it...

Been done! When you speak of asking them, then you would be asking me as well. I have been a member of their group as well. I started out there in 1991 at their previous site, Shimpstown. Now and it has been for over ten years Newville. That is what you are seeing photos of in this post. My last time out there was in 2003, too long ago. We have been invited to show them what airsoft is like. But I would like to have our very own Tommy to come with us when we do go, Slick!

Ah! That's right, I had forgotten that you were a member of the GWA, excuse my ignorance, haha.

But I would like to have our very own Tommy to come with us when we do go, Slick! Sorry bud, but not having a job at the moment I can`t even afford to get out of the county, let alone the UK. Time at the moment is being spent designing some front ends for bolt actions to make them more WW1/WW2 compatible. The area does look superb though, could spend at least a week there 'living in the field'. ;D

Well your brother Yank has the same problem, no job. That is what has kept me from traveling outside of the state for two years now. But there is light at the end of the tunnel! Just filled out two appilcations online today, have not done that in a long time. Hope that in the UK that give you some kind of support while being out of work. I'm on a emergency extention from the unemployment services and it's about to run out! But back to the thread, my good fortune would start a fund to get you over here for a vist.

that field looked so cool, especially from the air with the craters and little people running around. thats what i love about ww1 the awesome trenches and craters and the charges at the other trenches (also only bolt action rifles ;D)

Jericho you are only seeing a small part of it! The real experience is in those trenchs. The real trucks and horse drawn wagons are part of what goes on in the rear area. I have never been to a more authentic type of event! One can look across no-mans-land and see whispes of smoke rising from underground stoves as the soldiers cook their meals. During the day someone will pop a yellow smoke grenade and yell "Gas Attack"! Also the ever poping sound of machine guns rattling. But the realisum doesn't stop there, just wait until you experience the SHELLING!!

Maybe you could work on the impression of one of the ground crew for the planes. Make sure you add a slit trench to dive into because now you could be on the recieving end of a straffing run.

Time to get dear ole dad into it. Say it's your way to have a common interest and share quaility time togather. Tell him how good he would look in the cockpit of a Fokker.
