I do not wish to impose, but it would seem, through looking around, that we have very few members, and a lot of great ideas.
So, how can we fix this?
- Advertise! Get the word out there! Try to find your states airsoft organization, if there is one, and join, and make a post about our group. The least we can do is try to breed interest by throwing it out there. Any time you go to a game, tell the people there, too. They are more likely to remember a direct conversation than a short burst of words on a forum.
-Intrigue. Try your best at making things for this game. Most of us will attempt to make guns, or parts to improve previously existing ones. But guns are really only a small part of our game. This is a 'live' reenactment! No more ACW style "Hey bubba I kilt you!"-"H'ain't no way, I got on my gray Kevlar!" We can feel when we get 'kilt'. We need safety equipment. Go to Wal-mart and buy some cheap JT masks, and try to make it look like a box respirator.
-Find. Look for places to play. This could be like RS reenacting. WE might be able to increase membership to the point where we can have nationwide games. But more than likely this will be a relatively low-profile activity for a while. Find people, find a place, find some fun.
Fun. Let's remember to make this a game, and games are supposed to be fun.
Just a few brief words about my idea of how this should be done.
Thanks for reading.

Way ahead of you. It takes time, which we have plenty of. Stop and think, this is not fast food, it's not going to happen over night. How can you trust me? Over 25 years in reenacting. The old saying history repeats it's self is true. Most guys are just sitting back and watching, or reading. Alot will wait until after the first event. Please read some of the earlier posts. Our fearless leader, Jake is been very busy working on all of what you commented on. So fear not! You sound like you have too many cooties in your breeches. LOL

Sorry to make myself impose on someone else' turf, seeing as there are currently leaders and the like. But, since I found out about this, I have realized that it is the culmination of two of my most favorite activities, that being airsoft and the Great War. I just thought I would post this to make it clear, as much for me as for anybody else.

I wish we had more like you. It's good to hear from you. As they say in the trenchs "Keep up the fire".

maybe in a few years we'll be as popular, what we need is numbers like at ww2aa, where we can influence production, ww2 airsoft is just getting to numbers needed for an optimal leve, they've lobbied for an M1 Garand for years and one looks like it might be made, my point being, the more people that will be buying ww1 guns, the more people that want them, the more the chance they'll be made, the more people beyond that even more guns will be made, more guns made the more people will think they will want to try ww1 see, all we need is numbers, then as we get more the numbers we already have will do the work for us, So i encourage all of you spread the word anyway you can, to everyone you can! Go forth and conquer!

I agree! We may have to start out small, of course, but we need to do a strong photo op. A minute by minute report of the event. Also as many after action reports. Still we have time. I don't think it will take years as one good event will sell it. Biggest problem I can see is getting as many of our guys together in one spot. It's easy for me, I'm an old man and can drive just about anywhere. It's the majority of our group are of the age where they are just getting to drive. That's the only reason I see for years. So one answer is to get togather in your area with another WWI guy and pool your resources. Team work, no matter what side you are on.

I hope that most of you have noticed that already two weeks into the new year and we are growing. We need to hear from our newest members. Find out what impression they are doing and extend a helping hand if needed. ;D

I wish we had more like you. It's good to hear from you. As they say in the trenchs "Keep up the fire". Funny you should say that. That was the slogan of my unit, 4/9th Inf. at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, many years ago. The 9th was part of the expedition sent to relieve the legations beseiged in Beijing (Peking) during the Boxer Rebellion (see "55 Days at Peking"). When they were assaulting the walls of Peking the colonel ordered "Keep up the fire" and they adopted it as their slogan, adding "Manchu" to the end of it.
