I too need that tally count. It will make it easier when meeting with the site owners. Two or three guys is not enough. Don't worry about having the proper weapon, we are still in our early stages. I'm using a quick modification Trenchgun. May I suggest any bolt action springer for now. Attachments:

Depending when it was I could maybe make it to Chicago area. If it where something closer to or, in Missouri count me in on the German side for sure.

We are all trying to find a location best for all of us. That's why as a last resort I am looking around the Chicago area. I'm more than willing to travel to your area to do a battle event. We are still struggling with low numbers. Acceptance is slowing growing and it's a case of just give it time. We can make it happen.

You know that St.Louis is where the birth of midwestern WWII reenacting started in 1976. So are many other time periods from this area is where they got their start. This is where I got my start in living history. Just south of St.Louis is Weldon Spring the first reenacting site. I'm trying to get a friend on board from the area. I know he could arrange for us to use Weldon.

Did not know that, interesting. How big of a site would we need? To bad this isn't five years ago I had three acres of my own that I used just for paint ball.
I think Missouri would be the ideal place to have a dedicated area with trenches, shell holes etc. due to it being about the same distance for guys from Oklahoma, Kansas, or, Illinois and, not that bad from Texas (used to make that trip all the time in the Army) .

As you know, I have a field here in NC, we can use that for eastern events, being we don't really have enough to use the GWA's site. But on this subject, I think Missouri is a great place to have an event, due to its central location. What is the terrain like there?

My area is mostly low hills. Lots of hay fields and, pasture land.
I've had a few local guys who do modern tactical airsoft show interest in the WW1 idea . Maybe we should try to get a midwest German unit started. I'm for a late war stormtroop impression WW1 gear is a little more expensive but, less of it to buy.
Helmet, tunic + trousers, belt and, buckle( no ammo pouhes they carried it in there pockets), grenade sacks (two sandbags with a neck strap easy to make) low boots with puttees and, weapon Kar.az. Throw all that on and, instant stormtroop.
Might add a bread bag and canteen (Swedish canteen passes for a prewar model).
Of course there are alot of other things to add to this impression to make it up to blank burner standard but..the above would work for an airsoft battle.
