Did you know how Gen. Pershing got as nickname "Black Jack". As a Lt. before the Spanish American war he was in charge of the all black cav. unit.

There was a 1997 mini-series on TNT, "Rough Riders", about Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders. They include Pershing and the 10th cavalry, though the real Pershing was probably spinning in his grave at the depiction. That's Hollywood. I believe it's available on DVD.

Now here this! as they say in the Navy. I was there on the set! Me and a good friend were there, Jack Stewart. He got more air time as I picked him out in several sences. Didn't see me once. It was fun! but they didn't let us keep the uniforms. I might have been in the sence where everybody was running for the train.
