The rifles made by 2nd Bat are good but need work. They are all in working condition and function well. They hold up to alot of abuse and look like combat veterans. But if you want a rifle that is dead on and exactly like the original, 2nd Bat's come about as close as you can get. I am a stitch counter and strive for perfection, so I have to modify it too try to make it even better. Much of what is needed to make this rifle even better is finish work. Like sanding of certain parts and even reproduce small parts to replace what he has made. Seeing what 2nd Bat has done makes it easy to improve on his idea. For the money it's a good start and once I improve it it is worth it. I will still attempt to make my own rifle as a back up to this one.

Agreed. 2nd Bat has certainly come along way since his first Version M1 Garands. On his newest ones the only thing I'd probably modify is the left side of the reciever opposite of the bolt handle. His current plans for molding definately sound promising if he can pull it through. Tootall do you own one of his M1 Garands, one of His 1903 Springfields or something else?

Tom actually I own both. My Garand I have had and used for the last two years. The problem you mentioned has been addressed in his most recent versions. I got one before he made the changes. His molding of parts seems unfinished and just painted over. But the gun works great in the field. Same is true with his Springfields as mine will need work over the winter. I too am interested in these new moldings as he has some in the works for the Springfields as well. I ran into the same problem with another guy and just made one better than his with my M1917 watercooled MG's. But again for the money not a bad buy on 2nd Bat's guns. At least it is something.
