This past Saturday a bunch of the WWIIAA guys came over to my house and we slipped out into the woods behind my house. There we checked out the area for possible future events, both WWI and WWII. Great area and we had alot of fun we could do very early war there for the Great War. Heavially wooded with a few spots of standing water. Alot of up and downs and hidding spots. The future looks bright for that area. It's a start untill the trenchs and standard WWI battleground can be found. Imagine a Marine crouch down walking thru the wooded mist with his trusty shotgun at the ready.

This coming Saturday is my first event in the new area. Unfortunetly it's not a Great War event, but most of the guys coming out are or soon to be members of our group. We are doing a WWII event, Ardennes just before the "Bulge". If this goes well, and I think it will, we all can look forward to a future WWI event.

I can't believe it! Most of the guys have pulled out of the event due to other commitments. So it will be just another checking it out day for any who show up. I think now I will change it into a photo shoot for the "Great War".

No pic's to post, no one showed up. I was already to snoop & poop in the woods. Today if it is a no show AGAIN then I am not going to try it again until spring. Can't handle too many disappointments.

My video card in the computer is on the fritz, so until I figure out how to fix that I can't post any photos. My printer works fine but because when I went to install the discs from the camera it fried the media card. I'm lucky my computer still works! Anyway Saturday was a bust! but Sunday turned out to be great! It is a great place for WWII but not so for the Great War. We played until just after dark, bearly getting back to my place with enough light. Only had five of us but it was grand! We checked out spots for trenchs and it would take alot of work. My other site already has trenchs, just need to get the use of it. No cliffs as the area is bearly above the watertable. It sits between two rivers so it's a soggy island. About 50 acres.

Actually Sunday turned out to be awhole lot more fun then execpted. The weather was good and a total of five guys participated. We stayed in one part of it which is the most heavily wooded. Alot of large fallen timbers so many hidding places. We started out at the far southern end and did a withdrawl type of action. We stayed out past sunset and only quit when it was too dark to see. That's when you use the glow in the dark BB's, TRACERS!!! Alot of fun and when the word gets out there will be more people. Because it is small for now next time I will go out as a doughboy with either my Springfield or the shotgun.

Tough time of the year for guys in your position. Finals and not the best weather. It would be nice if the weather was better for the limited time off you get. Nothing you can do about either for now. Back to the thread, the feedback on the site has been nothing but good. The word is getting out and alot of guys are saying that they wish they had been there. Could be the next one will be bigger and better. For now it's time to hibernate for at least two months.

Well we had another one but again only a few showed. Alot of guys are sick! This time we had snow and ice out there. The local boys into modern airsoft were out there and acted as our argessors. It was alot fun even with only a brave few. Kicked butt!
