Today My grandpa went to the auction house for me ( I had wresteling practice) and he brought home a box with a pistol belt and a christmas carol sheet. The last page speaks..
Christmas in the trenches... "we found a Pine tree and decorated it with candles and cookies. All along the lines soldiers were singing carols in chorus. Our enemy had left their stations and stood with cap in hand. It was quiet and peace prevailed. We crossed over and exchanged gifts of chocolate and cigarettes, then everyone went back to their postitions and the christmas carols sounded again. Suddenly a shot rang out. Our christmas over."
Thoughts?
