This past weekend we went out into the wooded area behind my house and did a WWII event. With the bushs and trees budding out it's getting greener out there. Once again I asked the guys about doing a Great War event out there. We had a larger crowd this time and it is still a very good possibility. We are seeing more bolt action sniper type guns showing up. I hope this trend is happening at the other games. The guys even suggested coming out on a weekend and just working on the site! TRENCHS!!

Awesome, I've had a few guys show some intrest around here as well. Working on my kit seems to help the more WW1 gear I show people the more intrested in the idea they get. (Once I finish the MG and, my kar98az they'll come running ;D)
Realy I think if we can just get off the ground (or, in it) the idea will start to snow ball.

This is ALL repro and you better not be using any original stuff. Does not make any sense to use something that is over 90 years old and at the price you would have paid for it. In all historical reenactment groups they stress using repro. Think about it! When these guys were sent over there all their stuff was brand new. +90 year old stuff does not look the same! The wear you put on the repro's will match what they put on their stuff. PLEASE save the originals for your collection ONLY!!

Funny, I just had the original vs. repro debate with someone last night. I agree with Tootall and, Oberst on this the. Only problem is no one has made repros of some stuff. First thing that comes to mind is German Messkits. I say use a post war ww2 type for now.
Good news is there's alot more things being reproduced than when I was doing blank reenacting 10 years ago.

Back to what this thread is about, in the woods. This area has been used by the local kids who play around with airsoft for years now. They have been telling their friends all about it, so the word has spread. Well someone has taken advantage of the situation. This one kid from outside of the area committed a crime and threw the gun into this area. Now the area is being searched by ATF for the gun. The local kids have been questioned and it will not be long before the authoritities will be knocking on my door. So we will be allowing the heat to subside before we go back out there. Our presence in the woods would be misconstrued by the local authoritities.

Imagine what I would do if I caught this creep. It would take me several weeks to do what I have in mind.
