Actually when you look at the weapons we have available to us the FPS is not much of a concern. Some of the bolt actions are alittle too high, but we are shooting at a distance from trench to trench. Rules on trench raids with what weapons should be used will be formulated. Like no bolt actions for the raids. It would be more fun using pistols and a chance to use them.

We need to use saftey kills. When you get to close point your gun at the opisition and yell saftey.

Actually what we have done in the past is point the weapon at the ground and yell BANG!, without firing the weapon. If you get that close it is a confirmed action and the guy who is first gets the credit. With most of what we will be doing actions that get us that close will only happen once. It's best to stick with what works and has been used in the past as most will remember that. Also we are trying to portary a period and do not want anything to detract from that. That is why yelling bang is more appropreate.

This is why we have rules and stick to them. Our trenchs will have to be farther apart than 20 feet. At least 20 yards. We need that kind of distance or better to best protary the Great War. We will be going over the top and through no-mans land. I would like to see a rule stating that once troops are in no-mans land in a charge towards the enemy trenchs no shots would be fired. This is where the rubber bayonets would come into play.

well the MG's would have to be able to fire, i think the trenches should be about 30 yards apart, the first 5 yards would be barbed wire, bolt actions wouldn't be fired once the attackers reach the barbed wire, MG's would have lower FPS

Everything you said is GREAT, just what we need. Glad to see you and I are on the right track, and have been. We only have the best of interests for our troops.
