Hey everybody,
My name is Jared. I'm just getting started with World War 1. I don't think I'm going to focus on this war but I still want to learn a lot about it and the weapons put to use. I have always been interested in world war 2 and my main impression is a 184th Red Army mid war impression. I have gotten most of the stuff for that era and plan to focus on Ostfront but I have a keen interest in WW1 and had a couple questions about the war and the weapons.
1. What were the main weapons of a foot soldier?( other than the K98, Springfield, Lee infield, lewis gun, MP18, and that French machine gun the chochak or something like that)
2. What were the main engagements of the war?
3.Was Russia involved in WW1 and if so please add additional information about them.

Well you have alot of questions that you need to research. We can help in some if not all but you need to search on your own for the history. I say this to motivate you to find out more and you may find something we don't know. As for the guns check out some of our threads here. Yes the Russians were in the war on the western front as well. They were attached to the French. There was also an Eastern Front. I think we here are devoting all our efforts to the Western Front. So we need Frenchman, same uniform the Russians were wearing. Good to have young blood in the hobby, Over the Top!

russians used the mosin-nagant 1891, you could probably pass one of gryph's mosin off as 91

DPM's are WWII. I would like to make a maxium. For the Great War I think we all are sticking to the rifles for right now. Yes the Mosin 91 is perfect for WWI, the number 91 is in reference to the year it was made 1891. Also any French guns used would be correct. You just gave me another excuse to make another Chau Chat, it's up to three now.

Not to sound like a smart ass but yeah i knida new the DPM was ww2 cause of its brother the dp-28 as in Degtyaryov model 1928 Light Machine Gun and i beleive ther is a small chance world war 1 might have almost been over by then Thanks Anyway though...What I was trying to say is that my DPM conversion is taking up my time and I havent spent much time on a mosin although ive got a pretty good idea. HAHAHAHAH you should defintly build a chauchat gun! Make it just like the real thing too! TAT, TAT, TAT, Click, Click CONFITURE, CONFITURE !

Yeah guys, I am now half way done with my Mosin Nagant Carbine!!! It will be a great way to start an influnce for ww2 airsoft in VA s861.photobucket.com/albums/ab175/squirrelcat123/?action=view¤t=1231091832.jpgThis is a rather old photo though..I actually have finished the charging handle and the foregrip all I really need is the paint! It is full plastic and in its base coat right now and it was done with the cheapest of all means. It actually cost me less than $30 dollars! Highly recomend this idea for any other conversion including... Springfield Kar98K Or even Lee Enfield

There is a big difference between the Great War and World War II. We here are interested in the Great War, so please keep WWII where it belongs for now. The carbine is a post WWI idea. So for this area again please stick to the long rifles of our time period. There is a 24 year difference.
