Well now the WWII guys will soon have the beloved BAR. We can use this one as well on a limited basis. I have already started to collect the items needed to do this impression. Conversion to the Great War on the BAR is not hard at all. I am hoping to do a review on the BAR soon. The company selling them is Materix and the price is right.

Well that soon has turned into a distant dream. Now the possiblity of getting a BAR seems more remote. It has been almost three months now and the projected time now is in June. This is getting furstrating! I have heard that the manufacturers in China are in trouble and that all production has stopped. This could potentially hurt every aspect of what we do. Higher prices and back to Japan. Why don't they move to Korea?

Likely for the same reason you don't skip across the pond to England xD Moving is rough though I know your frustration all too well.

Yes, (again) China's government decided it was going to crack down on all chinese manufaturers. I heard (don't quote me) that JG was taken out completely and that they are no longer producing airsoft replicas.

We need to find a better source for our news. I am going to try to yahoo the expo they were talking about. I think it's a cover up to end all production. One excuse they used was that the guns look so real they could be used to commit crimes. I can't see some guy running into a bank with a G98 yelling this is a stick up!

using an airsoft gun to commit crimes wouldn't work when the police showed up with real guns

There will always be stupid people who do stupid things. The real "crime" is we all have to pay for it. Next they will outlaw saws and paint so nobody makes a wooden gun paints it black and, commits a crime with it if, they don't just huff the paint and, try to use the saw or, board for a weapon.
What ever happened to holding the individual accountable for there actions and, leave the rest of us alone?

Guys were getting off the original thread here. Back to what it's about here the BAR. After doing alittle more investigation on that world expo in China, I found that it starts on May 1st. So the production of airsoft guns that were stalled because of it may pickup shortly. The reason I bring this up is because it should effect all airsoft guns made in China.

I think that if enough of us email the guys at Schipperfabrik we may be able to get them to replicate the WW1 BAR belts and bandoleers. I talked to them about it, but they said that right now not enough people were asking about it to justify the production of it. It's worth a shot, right?

Only problem with that is if the people don't have the BAR in their hot little hands they will not need the ammo belt. Most don't think that far ahead. Your idea is good, but getting everyone else to go along with it is the tough nut.

Yeah, hopefully we may eventually be able to generate enough interest to get these reproduced. As of now, the only options are originals, which I have mixed feelings about using.

Yeah, I think I'm going to make my own Springfield (the Enfield was more common, but the Springfield also works for WW2 and Interwar) I guess if they don't reproduce it, you probably don't need it (I fear this may be that case for the BAR stuff, although I still think if we try hard enough we can get someone to reproduce it) An interesting fact, Browning automatic rifle is actually a Post war name, in WW1 it was referred to as the Light Browning, or Browning Machine rifle.
